With guitarist James Mead, bass guitarist Stu, drummer Kyle Mitchell, guitarist Ryan Shrout, and frontman Jon-Micah Sumrall, the band hailing from Portland, Oregon, was able to inspire a deal with BEC Recordings in 2002 for the start of their music career for God.

Their debut was self-titled, and from then on the band was known for such further hits as 'What Faith Can Do,' 'We Fall Down,' 'Better Is One Day,' and 'Strong Tower.' Kutless is especially known for headlining the major Christian music events, such as the Extreme Days tour and also hosting events to benefit battered women and children and cancer victims. A true-blue Christian band doing what they do best to benefit the world.

The appeal of Kutless falls in line with such hardedged bands as Switchfoot, P.O.D., and Petra -- but you'll see even more similarities with the more recent -- but still classic -- Supertones and some of the great alt metal secular bands out there like Staind, Creed, and Incubus. It successfully crossed Kutless over into the mainstream, which these days tends to be more common in the Christian music genre and is a welcome addition to the music industry.
