The first album was called In a Reverie, and it was issued out in 1999. Instantly, they earned praises for some of their work, urging them to release a second effort entitled Unleashed Memories in the spring of 2001. Furthermore, they added more fuel to the fire with a third album in 2002 -- entitled Comalies -- magnifying their heavy presence in the industry and earning them tour spots with the likes of Type O Negative, P.O.D., Opeth, Danzig, and many others. One of their defining singles was the heavy track 'Heaven's a Lie,' followed by an equally powerful piece called 'Swamped.' Lacuna Coil by 2004 was already prestigious enough to earn an invitation to Ozzfest; and by 2006, they had already released another album called Karmacode. Their fifth album was critically acclaimed simply because they were able to work with Linkin Park producer Don Gilmore. The LP was called Shallow Life.

There was an obvious goth mentality with the band given Scabbia's haunting lyrics and vocals, but nothing could match the ambience that the band portrayed. It gave Italy a good name when it came to rock n' roll.
