Lady Antebellum Owns the Night (Updated November 14, 2012)

As 2012 dawned on Lady Antebellum, it was only fair to call this country trio a bona fide supergroup. Lead singers Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott not only continued to share a smoldering chemistry on stage, but instrumentalist and backing singer Dave Haywood remained the proverbial glue between them.

On the heels of becoming a huge mainstream success, the band's mix of country and pop propelled the release of their third studio album, "Own the Night." It was released on September 13, 2011, with the first single, "Just a Kiss," performed on the stage of "American Idol," and later to a national audience on "Saturday Night Live." With a quick ascent to the top of the Billboard 200, it marked the group's second number one album in the United States and one of the most successful country albums of the year.

The next step was a big one. The group embarked on its first headlining arena tour, crisscrossing North America before joining up as a supporting act with the legendary Bruce Springsteen. On a night that also featured guest appearances by the likes of Tom Morello and John Fogerty, Lady Antebellum opened for "The Boss" at London's Hyde Park as part of the Hard Rock Calling Festival.

On November 8, 2012 Lady Antebellum was honored with the breakthrough award at the 2012 Billboard Touring Awards in New York City. Their "Own the Night" tour sold more than one million tickets in 11 countries, with an official documentary set for release on December 4.
