4/4/13: Lady Gaga surely didn't envision the way 2013 would turn out. In the middle of a tour consisting of 110 shows across the globe, she suffered a labral tear of her right hip that caused the remainder of dates to be canceled.

The setback came on the heels of several dates of the tour's leg in Asia drawing protests from religious groups who viewed the tour as satanic and against religious values. This stemmed mostly due to an outcry from the Islamic Defenders Front, causing a cancellation in the Indonesian city of Jakarta after 52,000 tickets had been sold in just a few days.

Thanks to the bum hip, concert promoters have been left scrambling over who will be responsible for picking up the cost of a tour cancellation estimated at $25 million. Still, the show goes on behind the scenes. Work on Gaga's new album, "Artpop," continues. She is working with DJ White Shadow, RedOne, Zedd and Madeon, and the album is set for release later in 2013. She is also reportedly planning to record a jazz album with Tony Bennett, will make her debut film appearance in the upcoming movie "Machete Kills," and is working on a documentary about her life and "the creation of ARTPOP."

Gaga's "Born Brave" bus tour – her initiative to raise awareness about the danger of bullying and to inspire young people to be courageous and accept themselves – continued its run. The bus stopped in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and New York City before its final stop at Chicago's Navy Pier.

Gaga kicked off her 'Born This Way Ball' tour on April 27 in Seoul, South Korea. It made its way across Asia, moved to Australia and eventually into Europe. The last stop for the calendar year is scheduled in South Africa on December 3 at Cape Town Stadium, with North American dates for 2013 yet to be announced.
Lady Gaga also recently announced to fans that she completed her third full-length album and will be announcing the title in September. She recently said at a concert that the upcoming project displays, 'a tremendous lack of maturity or sense of responsibility.'

After eight years, the music business is finally showing positive growth. Many have attributed this, in part, to Lady Gaga's success, as well as other strong female artists, such as Adele, Katy Perry and Brittany Spears.

Lady Gaga had an interview with Howard stern this morning. The interview lasted around 90 minutes, which is one of the longest on Howard Stern in recent history. Gaga discussed her earlier years, sex, drugs, fashion, and Born This Way.

Although Gaga's name seems to be in the news less and less as the summer goes on, she recently made headlines by paying tribute to Amy Winehouse.
