Leon Russell began his musical career while still a young man in high school, playing Tulsa nightclubs and by the late 1960s had become a session keyboardist who would eventually join a band and then press onward to a solo career. In 1969, Joe Cocker recorded Delta Lady which as a result, became Russell's first song writing success, leading to Cocker further employing Leon's skills in the organization of the Mad Dogs and Englishmen Tour. Leon's list of songwriting accolades include Superstar, co-written with Bonnie Bramlett, a song made popular by various high profile artists and A Song for You, which has been released by forty different artists and continues to put Leon Russell tickets in high demand.
