One of the most successful acts of the last decade, Linkin Park is known for a hybrid of alternative metal, hip hock, modern rock and electronica. Not to be confused with the vast stretch of land bordering Lake Michigan (that would be Lincoln Park), the band hails from Agoura, California but is fronted by Arizona vocalist Chester Bennington. Along with founders Rob Bourdon and Brad Delson, the band also consists of Dave Farrell, Joe Hahn and Mike Shinoda. Collectively, they have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide and won two Grammy Awards.

Formed in 1996, Linkin Park didn't have to wait long to taste success. The band found international fame in 2000 with the release of its debut album, "Hybrid Theory," which represented five years worth of the their work and was certified Diamond (10 million units sold) by 2005. It spawned the singles "Crawling" and "One Step Closer," and other songs from the project were also used in feature films.

Linkin Park launched its own traveling festival, the Projekt Revolution Tour, in 2002. A year later, the band's sophomore effort, "Meteora," arrived with heavy expectations. Songs such as "Numb," "Somewhere I Belong" and "Breaking the Habit" extended their crossover success, and the following year Linkin Park collaborated with rapper Jay-Z on an EP called "Collision Course."

Since 2007, Linkin Park has continued to explore other genres on their studio projects. "Minutes to Midnight" topped the Billboard charts, "A Thousand Suns" (2010) introduced more electronic sound, and "Living Things," (2012) is a mashup of elements from all their other works.

Linkin Park kicked off a tour in Australia on February 21, 2013 in Auckland at Vector Arena. On April 20 the group re-issued "Hybrid Theory" on vinyl for the first time in over a decade, with the release including a "One Step Closer" 10-inch re-issue featuring a "My December" bonus b-side. They're also currently working on the soundtrack for an upcoming film, "Mall," and will go back into the studio tow work on their sixth album after the project.

Linkin Park will be performing at Summer Sonic 2013 on Saturday 8/10 and Sunday 8/11 in Osaka, Japan. They've also added a show at Asia World Arena in Lantau, Hong Kong on the 15th, and at the Taipei Arena in Taipei City two days later.
