Lit Tickets - The Age of Punk-Pop in the '90s

Rock was doing really well during that decade, and a few funny musicians decided to get together in the very beginning of that decade to form the rock band Lit. Simple. They were all in Orange County, California -- frontman A. Jay Popoff along with his guitarist brother Jeremy met with bass guitarist Kevin Baldes and drummer Allen Shellenberger to make some really fun music. At first, they recorded an EP called Five Smokin' Tracks from Lit and then followed that up with an actual full-length release called Tripping the Light Fantastic in 1997. After wowing many crowds with their own independent work, RCA Records came knocking on their door to offer a contract for their official major-label debut in 1999.

The album to immortalize the band was none other than A Place in the Sun, featuring the awesome rock of 'My Own Worst Enemy,' 'Zip-Lock,' and 'Miserable.' The album went platinum immediately. Lit went on to release two more albums, but many music lovers will forever remember Lit by that slamming song called 'My Own Worst Enemy,' jamming on the radio.

They were icons in the late '90s and kept going during the new millennium. For sure, when you hear the beginning riffs of the song 'My Own Worst Enemy,' you'd recognize the song right away -- well before you hear Popoff's vocals! They had style, they had coolness. They were Lit.
