Located in Kansas City, Missouri, Arrowhead Stadium is home to the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs. Opened in 1927, the original cost of the stadium was $43 million, but a $375 million renovation was completed in 2010 actually decreasing capacity to 76,416 due to the addition of more suites. Earning its name from the overhead shape of the stadium, Arrowhead is owned by the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority. The venue makes up part of Kansas City's Truman Sports Complex, which includes neighboring Kauffman Stadium. The Chiefs haven't been the only team to call Arrowhead Stadium home, with the Kansas City Wizards of the MLS hosting their matches for over a decade from 1996-2007. The venue has also served as the host for five Big 12 Football Championship games in 2000, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2008. It is also the current neutral field location for the 'Border Showdown', an annual meeting between the University of Kansas and University of Missouri football teams. On the Division II level, the stadium is home to the annual 'Fall Classic at Arrowhead', involving Pittsburg State University and Northwest Missouri State. In 2004, this classic featured the only matchup pairing the No. 1 and 2 teams in a season finale in history. A variety of concerts also play at the venue with acts such as Pink Floyd, The Who, Metallica, Paul McCartney and U2 making appearances. Arrowhead Stadium is typically categorized as one of the loudest in the NFL, evidenced by the Chiefs' spectacular record there.
