Lo Cash Cowboys a duo to 'Keep in Mind' (Updated January 9, 2013)

It's pretty hard to forget what genre of music the LoCash Cowboys represent, with one half of the music duo always rockin' a hand-shaped hat with a bent brim. If that weren't enough, there's "C.O.U.N.T.R.Y.", their last official single before the closing of label R&J Records in 2012.

LoCash Cowboys is comprised of Chris Lucas and Preston Brust, who met at the famed Wildhorse Saloon and are now as famous on the Nashville scene for their songwriting as they are for their vocal talent. Writers on Keith Urban's 2011 hit "You Gonna Fly" and Tim McGraw's 2012 rocker, "Truck Yeah," the duo actually got its start with a self-released eponymous album in 2008 that sold more than 60,000 copies. They also released three singles under R&J, though just one crawled inside the top 40 of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

The LoCash Cowboys song that struck a cord with listeners was the 2010 single, "Keep in Mind." The lyrics talk about a parent's farewell to a child venturing into the real world, and fans responded by sending the duo letters and pictures that were later included in the official music video for the song.

The duo is known for their over-the-top energy during live performances, and often work a show without a set list. The have opened for some of country music's biggest names, including Toby Keith and Blake Shelton, and headlined Maxim's Red Man Roadhouse Tour. They're hitting the road in 2013 with a number of dates booked at festivals and fairs around the country.
