But it wasn't until she ended up releasing 1989's monumental album Parallel Dreams to the world with a staggering 40,000 copies sold within four months of the album release. Warner Canada took notice, represented her work, and the album continued to sell over 600,000 copies after that, going platinum six times. She also received a Juno Award and gave McKennitt enough clout to release a second proper album called The Mask and Mirror in 1994. She became so popular that you'd hear her music everywhere from the record store to the silver screen to just your everyday TV at home. She's done arrangements for such films as Jade, The Santa Clause, and Highlander III, along with a few TV shows like Northern Exposure, Due South, and EZ Streets.
