It was around the '90s when the realm of Ska, Punk, and even an infused rap sound entered the music arena in a big way, and there was no doubt that a little band from Chicago called 'Lucky Boys Confusion' would herald that movement well. Founded back in 1997, it featured the vocalist Kaustubh Pandav, co-vocalist and guitarist Adam Krier, drummer Ryan Fergus, bass guitarist Jason Shultejann, and guitarist Joe Sell. And they had a creativity to infuse a kind of music that was never heard of in the gamut of music anywhere. Once working in gigs and releasing their first EP on their own Townstyle label in 1997, it became clear that the Windy City had a quintet of ska-punk players to deal with, and there was absolutely no problem with that!

Their first full-length album under their own label was called Growing Out of It, and it continued to spur a great following in Chi-town. They became so popular in the city that they even headlined gigs at the famous House of Blues in the downtown area, not to mention the legendary Metro. The single to catapult them into that stardom was 'Dumb Pop Song,' and it earned them the status of major-label quality as Elektra Records jumped on the ball and signed them immediately in 2001 for their major-label debut Throwing the Game. A single off of that album that became popular was the college craze phenomenon called 'Fred Astaire.'

They were no doubt geared to a punk crowd, very much like Blink-182 and Sum 41. The only difference is they really incorporated some more of that rap style along with the funky ska that came with bands like Reel Big Fish and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Whatever the case, their unique sound made them legends in the music industry.
