Web Developer (LAMP)
Ideal candidate
We're looking for a brilliant LAMP developer to work on SeatGeek's backend. The ideal candidate will have a particularly strong background in web scraping and working with large databases. He/she will appreciate building simple, elegant code to solve difficult problems.
Primary responsibilities
- Build backend features as SeatGeek expands into new ticket verticals
- Design scraping processes to gather data that drives SeatGeek's algorithm
- Manage the SeatGeek's data platform, constantly pushing for optimal replication, storage, and speed to protect current data and to streamline our data gathering processes
Required skills/experience
- Extensive experience building high-performance web apps with PHP and MySQL (the hiring decision will be largely based on what you've built)
- Familiarity with agile development
- Fanatical about writing clean, well-commented code
- Ability to write complex SQL queries
- Expertise in MySQL data warehousing
- Javascript/AJAX/Prototype skills are a plus, but are not necessary
- Experience with the Symfony framework is a plus, but is not necessary
