Born Brian Warner in Canton, Ohio, this man by the age of 18 had began work as a music journalist. Who would've thought he would pioneer the genre of 'shock rock' in a major way? Originally recording his own work as 'Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids,' it was obvious that they had a thing for pop culture and serial killer phenomenon. The other members of his band had similar names to his own - friend and guitarist Scott Mitchell (stage name: Daisy Berkowitz), bass guitarist Gidget Gein, and keyboard player Madonna Wayne-Gacy. Their frighteningly elaborate performances would ultimately not only disgust some, but attract many - and most notably one in particular came knocking on their door. Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. With a record contract on Reznor's own label, Nothing Records, Marilyn Manson came out with all the guts and glory you'd expect from a shock rock band!
