How do you go from singing in the church choir and studying classical music to becoming one of the top electro-house DJs in the world? Just ask Martin Laurent Picandent, better known by the stage name Martin Solveig.

Meet Madonna's Right-hand Man (Created April 17, 2013)

By the age of 13, Solveig was spinning turntables like he'd been doing it his entire life. By 18, he was working some of the most popular clubs in Paris includuing L'Enfer, Le Queen and Les Bains Douches. But his big break came in 2011 when he worked with Bob Sinclair on "Africanism," contributing the track "Edony" to the album. The single, of course, was a hit. Solveig only looked forward.

It was following college that the DJ decided to release his own full-length record. The album "Sur la Terre" bowed in 2002 on his own label, "Mixture," and was produced with both live and electronic instruments. In 2004 he moved more toward American funk and rock, releasing "Rocking Music" (sung by Jay Sebag). His next full-length, "Hedonist," came the following year.

With four studio projects to his name, including 2011's "Smash," it would seem that Solveig had a good thing going. But he added another dimension to his name (and to his resume) when he was officially named as one of the producers for Madonna's studio album, "MDNA." He embraced what he called the 'welcome education and seasoning,' noting that the project gave him a bit more maturity and experience in the collaboration with an artist on Madonna's level.

Following the pairing with The Material Girl, Solveig also experienced a rise in popularity that helped him become the in-house DJ for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. His upcoming tour dates include a stop at Chicagoland Speedway for the Electric Daisy Carnival and a gig at the Valley View Casino in San Diego, California.
