Mary Poppins News: Regular Season and Preseason Updates
Based on the 1964 film of the same name, the Walt Disney Theatrical musical, Mary Poppins features joy, laughter and of course, magic. The production, which first opened in London's West End in December 2004, continues to delight audiences on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theater. The musical, which features music and lyrics by the Sherman Brothers, along with additional music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, has been acclaimed by both audiences and critics. Directed by Richard Eyre and co-directed by Matthew Bourne, who also acted as co-choreographer with Stephen Mear, the production features dazzling theatrical effects such as flying cast members and eclectic musical numbers.
