About Miami Heat
Miami Heat fans entered American Airlines Arena wearing white t-shirts to show solidarity for Game 1 vs. the New York Knicks. By the time Lebron James scored his 23rd point of the first half, Miami Heat fans were waving white towels to show excitement for the King's performance! Although the Heat swept the Knicks during regular season, an offensive resurgence from Carmelo Anthony down the stretch gave Knicks fans confidence the series would be competitive. However, a dreadful performance by 'Melo, and a season ending injury to Iman Shumpert led to a 33 point rout by the Heat. The Knicks proved to be a bit tougher in Game 2, rallying behind 'Melo's determination to score. But, a balanced offensive attack from the Heat's Big Three negated 'Melo's effort and led to another Heat victory. In a fit of frustration following the game, Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire injured his hand by striking the glass case of a fire extinguisher. Although unfortunate, the cause of Amare's injury seems fitting because the Heat are extinguishing the Knicks!
5/4/12 The Miami Heat have gotten off to one of the hottest starts in the 2012 NBA playoffs, jumping out to a commanding 3-0 series lead over the New York Knicks with an 87-70 win in Game 3 at Madison Square Garden. After a sloppy first half that featured little scoring and a lot of turnovers, LeBron James, who was in foul trouble for most of the game, took over in the 4th quarter scoring 17 points and leading the Heat to a convincing victory. LeBron finished with 32 points and Dwyane Wade added 20. The Heat will try to close out the series in Game 4 in New York and advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals.
