Minnesota Timberwolves News: Regular Season and Preseason Updates
The Minnesota Timberwolves are making some moves this week, as they are in the process of finalizing a deal for former Utah Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko. The deal is reportedly a two-year, $20 million deal and will add some additional depth to the Timberwolves roster, which already includes Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, and Brandon Roy, who is back from his one-year retirement. With Rubio hopefully returning from his ankle injury and being back at 100% for the start of next season, the Timberwolves will look to be a growing contender in the Western Conference and will look to return to the playoffs for the first time in several years.
5/31/12 - The Minnesota Timberwolves have started their preparations for the 2012 NBA Draft. The Timberwolves will have the 18th overall pick in this year's draft. Draft picks under team president David Kahn have either been great hits or bad misses. Minnesota fans hope this year's pick will follow the Ricky Rubio and Derrick Williams route to All-Rookie teams instead of the Jonny Flynn route, who finished this past season on his third team in three years. Minnesota could also use their first round pick in a trade to bring in a veteran player to play alongside their young core of Rubio, Williams and Kevin Love.
5/4/12 The Minnesota Timberwolves' season is over, but that doesn't mean that their fans can't look forward to next season and the potential that a full year with a healthy Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love can bring. Now, the Minnesota Timberwolves are looking ahead to the upcoming NBA draft in June and hoping to snag some young talent to add to their already young roster and help them compete in the upcoming 2012-2013 NBA season. Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves will look to improve upon their last-place finish in the Western Conference's Northwest division.
4/12/12 Although the 25-35 Minnesota Timberwolves will miss the playoffs this season, the outstanding play from their star power forward Kevin Love has been the talk of the league. Averaging a dominant 26.0 points per game and 13.3 rebounds per game, Love has had more than a few stat lines this season that have made even long-time NBA fans drop their jaws in awe. Love recently suffered a concussion in a loss to the Denver Nuggets and the Timberwolves may choose to shut him down for the rest of the season to prevent further injury. However, the Wolves will look to pick up some young talent in the draft and retool for the 2012-2013 NBA season.

Minnesota Timberwolves 2011 Offseason
The T-Wolves went 17-65 in the northwest division. Three teams from that division made the playoffs which makes it one of the toughest divisions in the league. They have Kevin Love who has proved his dominance in the league and they drastically need support in the forward and guard area. They drafted Derrick Williams who had an astounding game in the tournament and is the reason Arizona beat Duke in the NCAA tournament. He is a huge pick up and will add a versatility to offense and defense. They then picked up 7'0" forward Donata Motiejunas from Lithuania. They drastically improved their front court in the 2011 draft but how will this all translate in the 2011-2012 season? The Timberwolves are in financial trouble and lost money this past season. Hopefully the lockout doesn't have to large of an effect on them and they are able to get into the green next season and possibly (but a long shot) put together a winning season in one of the toughest divisions in the NBA.
