Mudvayne Tickets - Think Kiss on a Death Rock Steroid
You can admit it -- don't be afraid. We love those hard rock bands that did the whole makeup thing -- like Kiss. The thing is, though, glamour rock has fallen out of favor and flavor in the hard rock genre. That was the '80s. That doesn't, however, mean that we can lose the whole makeup thing. Case in point: a little band formed in Peoria, Illinois, in 1996, by the name of Mudvayne! Introducing the odd members of the band: you have the unusual drummer sPaG (M. McDonough), bass guitarist Ryknow (Ryan Martinie), guitarist Gurrg (G. Tribbett), and frontman Kud (Chad Gray). Once they released their own album Kill, I Oughta, Epic Records signed them to a music career that would redefine the idea of hard rock as we know it.
Mudvayne Tickets - The Music of Mudvayne
Upon signing with their new label, an official release of their debut L.D. 50 hit the stores in August of 2000, going gold and earning an MTV2 Video Award for the year of 2001. They went further with their escapade of rock insanity, releasing the second album The End of All Things to Come in 2001, and 2005's Lost and Found. Probably their only real defining single to personify the essence that was Mudvayne was the hard-hitting 'Dig,' a song that tore into your soul like you wouldn't believe and mesmerized you with the music video.
Mudvayne Tickets - The Sound and Style of Mudvayne
Right away, you'd notice that there's some heavy death metal overtones to this band, as they resemble something of a satanic, demonic ensemble. Their makeup and style is fitted with wild colors, devil horns, and odd raging behavior that practically echoes the whole thrash/hate/rage/death metal feel. To be honest, they're a lot of fun to watch!
