About Murs
Murs Tickets - Artist History
Murs is a Los Angeles rapper who began his solo career in 1993, when he released his first single. In 1997, he released his first full-length F'Real via Veritech Records, and he would stay with Veritech until Murs Rules the World (2000), which he would release through LLCrew. In 2003, he released The End of the Beginning through Definitive Jux, and in 2006, he inked to major label Warner Bros. His Warner Bros. debut Murs for President was comparatively successful, peaking at number 45 on Billboard charts in the U.S., and number 11 on Billboard Top Rap Albums charts. Murs continues to record music and tour, as well as work on his collaborations with various hip hop artists (including Atmosphere) in Felt, The Invincible(s) and others.
Murs Tickets - The Music
Murs is known for his dark and harrowing lyrics. He stands out from much of the hip hop crowd because instead of glorifying the gangster lifestyle, he often raps about just how heartbreaking and destructive it can be. This is well evidenced in Walk Like A Man, from Murs 3:16, which details the story of a man who gets avenges the death of his friend. Murs is unapologetic as he describes first the reason for the scene: But as I did I heard two shots, I turned to my right and I see my dude drop. Time stopped, couldn't believe what I seen I was struck by reality when the two girls screamed, and later, taking revenge: Then I split his face with the Glock right before he could reply, he cried as I pressed the heat against his cheek.
