To round out this beautiful Friday, I thought it would be pleasing to my readers to showcase the songs that are topping the charts this week.

If you listen to pop or hip-hop/rap radio at all, it should not be a surprise that Usher feat. Will.I.Am’s hit “OMG” is blowing up the sound waves. Courtesy of comewatchme It seems like you cannot turn to any station without hearing it at least once. But for those who like it, including myself, that is probably a good thing! The Billboard Top 100, Rhapsody, and iTunes all have it listed, with the first two sites having it at number one.

Also to no one’s awe, Lady Gaga is still dominating the charts – and now she is doing it with three songs, “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé, “Bad Romance”, and her newest release “Alejandro”. Bad Romance has been on the charts for 34 weeks and Telephone is following close with 17 weeks. Last.fm’s charts show that their users are mostly listening to Lady Gaga too – with their top four all being Lady Gaga songs. No wonder she is one of the biggest names in music right now!

Katy Perry’s newest song “California Gurls” featuring Snoop Dogg, which was released on May 7, made a huge leap and debuted at number two. Ke$ha is strongly holding her position on the charts with her current two singles “Tik Tok” and “Your Love is my Drug” – with the latter being number four on Rhapsody and number seven on Billboard, comparatively.

Something that really surprised me is the fact that B.o.B’s hit “Nothin’ on You” featuring Bruno Mars is not higher up on the charts. Every station I listen to on the radio is playing this song! I know it is being requested constantly. But on Billboard’s Top 100, it is listed as number four. I certainly expected it to be number two, if not higher.

I do not want to just focus on the pop music genre, so let me move on to some of the other charts that you, my readers, might be interested in.

On the hip-hop charts, Alicia Keys placed number one with her single “Un-Thinkable”. The rest of the top five consists of Drake, Ludacris, Monica, and B.o.B.

For those of you who love country music, Chris Young snagged number one with his hit “The Man I Want to Be”. Following closely behind him were Joe Nichols, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, and George Strait.

Stone Temple Pilots landed in first place with their song “Between the Lines” on the rock chart. Two through five placers were Three Days Grace, The Dirty Heads, Muse, and Phoenix.

If you love Latin music, you will not be surprised to know Diego Torres has the top position with his single “Guapa”. Trailing behind Torres is Chino Y Nacho, Latin favorite Tito El Bambino, La Original Banda El Limon, and Banda Los Recoditos.

Finally, some of the biggest names in Christian music whose albums topped the charts this week were Tenth Avenue North, MercyMe, Skillet Courtesy of jesusfreakhideout, tobyMac, and Sara Groves.

Keep listening to the biggest songs and supporting your favorite artists! And, if you want to see your favorite musician/band/artist in concert, check out SeatGeek for ticket prices.
