There's nothing more exciting than seeing someone play the fiddle with fervor, and without a doubt a woman born in 1973 right in Cape Breton -- an island off of Nova Scotia -- had that talent and passion pretty well. Her name was Natalie MacMaster, niece of influential Cape Breton fiddler Buddy MacMaster. After learning how to play the fiddle at the age of 9, she pursued actively a music career, releasing two cassete-only albums and then finally a release in the United States during the year of 2992 to jump-start a budding musical life with the fiddle.

The name of her USA release was Fit as a Fiddle, and it was so good that she received an East Coast Music Award for Best Roots/Traditional Album. Furthermore, Warner Brothers Canada took on her work for a record contract to release an 'official' album entitled No Boundaries. One of the most notable singles on that album was a track called 'Drunken Piper.' 1998 saw the release of her second album through Warner Brothers Canada, and she also had a third release entitled In My Hands in 1999. Surely, her success was 'in her hands'! Needless to say, she kept going with her passion for the fiddle and released My Roots Are Showing in 2000, a spectacular ensemble celtic cast of musicians entitled Blueprint in 2002, and a similar release in 2006 called Yours Truly.
