About New York Knicks
5/3/12 - The New York Knicks now have their backs to the wall down 3 games to none against the Miami Heat after an 87-70 loss in Madison Square Garden. The Knicks shot a measly 32 percent from the field, in a sloppy game for both teams. Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 22 points but missed 16 shots going 7 of 23 from the field. JR Smith added 12 points but was 5 of 18 from the field. Both teams did not generate a lot of offense until the start of the 4th Quarter. Limited the first three quarters because of foul trouble, Lebron James took off in the 4th. Lebron had 17 of his 32 points in the 4th quarter and led the Heat offense, outscoring the Knicks 29-14 in the final quarter. The Miami Heat defense also held the Knicks to only eight field goals in the second half. With this loss, the Knicks now hold the record with 13 consecutive playoff losses. The Knicks have not won a playoff game since April 29, 2001.
5/2/12 - For changing the New York Knicks Defensive Culture, center Tyson Chandler was awarded the highest defensive honor in the NBA, winning the Defensive Player of the Year award. Chandler is the first Knicks player to ever win the award. This is also Chandler's first time winning the award. Rounding out the top 3 were Oklahoma City's Serge Ibaka and three-time defending champion Dwight Howard. Chandler signed a 4 year $58 Million dollar contract during the offseason to anchor the Knicks defense. This season, Chandler averaged 11.3 points 9.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocked shots per game. Chandler's presence was felt in the defensive end, holding teammates accountable for their defensive assignments and making teams think twice about driving in the lane. Because of Chandler, the Knicks ranked in the top 11 in both opponents' field goal percentage and points allowed, a vast improvement from last year when they were 27th in the league.
4/30/12 - With the Knicks down 2 games to none against the Miami Heat, they will try to come back in Game 3 without star forward Amare Stoudemire. Stoudemire suffered a left hand laceration after punching a glass containing a fire extinguisher Monday after the Knicks' 104-94 loss to the Heat. The power forward punched the case moments after the game, heading towards the team locker room. Stoudemire saw a hand specialist on Tuesday and suffered no ligament or tendon damage according to a source from ESPN. Stoudemire will miss game 3 on Thursday night and may also miss the remainder of the series according to ESPN.
4/28/12 - New York Knicks rookie Iman Shumpert also suffered a torn left ACL and lateral meniscus in Saturday's 100-67 loss to the Miami Heat. The injury happened in the third quarter of Saturday's game. Shumpert attempted a behind the back dribble and tried to change direction but ended up landing awkwardly on his left leg. Shumpert was immediately taken to the locker room and then the hospital. He will miss 6-8 Months, missing the rest of the playoffs. Landry Fields and JR Smith are expected to fill in for Shumpert. The loss of Shumpert leaves the Knicks without their best perimeter defender to guard the likes of Lebron James and Dwayne Wade.
5/4/12 The New York Knicks have had a nightmare first round as they have lost guard Iman Shumpert to a season-ending ACL injury in Game 1 and star forward Amar'e Stoudemire to a hand injury after their 104-94 Game 2 loss when he punched a fire extinguisher in the Knicks locker room in frustration. The Knicks fell 87-70 in Game 3 and their season is in serious doubt heading into Game 4. Carmelo Anthony was held to only 22 points in Game 3 and is shooting only 22-of-64 in the first three games of their first round series.
4/26/12 - After their victory over the Charlotte Bobcats, the New York Knicks have clinched the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference and a date with the 2nd seeded Miami Heat. It will be a dream matchup for basketball fans as the Heat Big 3 of Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, and Christ Bosh face off against the Knicks' Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire, and Tyson Chandler. Since Mike Woodson took over as head coach, the Knicks have gone 18-6. Led by the red-hot Carmelo Anthony (29.8 ppg in April) and defensive anchor, Tyson Chandler, the Knicks are a very dangerous team and are a popular upset pick. The Knicks will head to Miami for Game 1 on Saturday.

New York Knicks Tickets - Venue Information
The New York Knicks play their home games at the historic Madison Square Garden. Nicknamed "The Garden," MSG originally opened its doors in 1968, making it the oldest arena in the NHL and the second oldest in the NBA. In addition to the Knicks, the arena is currently home to the New York Rangers and the St. John's Red Storm. The NCAA's Big East Tournament has also been held at Madison Square Garden every year since 1983. In addition to the Knicks, Rangers, and Red Storm, the WNBA's New York Liberty will make their return to the Garden in 2014. They previously called the Garden home between 1997 and 2010. During the summer of 2011, construction started on an $850 million renovation project. The renovation will include a larger entry way to the arena, new interactive kiosks, expanded retail space, larger concourses, new LED lighting, new seating, two new pedestrian walkways suspended from the ceiling, more dining options, and improved locker rooms to name a few. The new lower bowl will be ready for the 2011-2012 NHL and NBA seasons while the upper bowl is expected to be finished for the 2012-2013 seasons.
