NOISIΛ a myriad of sounds (Updated December 11, 2012)

Three members, three record labels and a myriad of sounds define Noisia (stylized as NOISIΛ, or 'VISION' rotated 180°), a Dutch electronic music outfit consisting of Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger.

Founded in 2002, the trio began to produce a wide variety of music including drum and bass, neurofunk, dubstep, breakbeat and more. After years of producing single tracks, their debut album, "Split the Atom," was released as a full-length CD as well as two double 12" EPs. Other projects included a mix album dubbed "FabricLive.40" and a special edition release of their initial work. Otherwise, the band's discography includes mostly EPs, collaborations and other works.

Hailed for its live performances, the members of Noisia DJ in European cities nearly every single week. They've appeared in places like London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Moscow, Belgrade, Berlin, Athens, Madrid and many other locales. They've also had more than 15 North America tours, traversed Australia on at least 10 occasions, and visited New Zealand, Israel, Japan and South Africa for other performances.

Noisia is known for its heavy use of 'Trash,' described as the ultimate audio mangling and distortion device. With it, the band is able to load its own impulse responses, create new filter combinations and design and edit multiband waveshapes.

While Noisia is a Nerve Recordings artist, its members have also founded their own labels: Vision, Division and Invisible Recordings. Each has its own specific purpose -- Vision is intended to showcase work with other producers, Division for music in other genres, and Invisible to focus on the more experimental side of drum and bass.
