Pennsylvania's Pop Powerhouse (Created April 3, 2013)

She is a powerhouse of pop, a master of songcraft and never destined to fall under the label of just another tween act. Instead, Pink (also known as P!nk) and her rock-influenced vocals aimed to set the record straight with her sophomore album "Missundaztood." After its release, there would be no more question of her musical direction.

Born Alecia Moore in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Pink was just a teen when she began making the rounds on the Philadelphia club scene. It led to a life on a musical merry go-round. She was a dancer, a backing vocalist and part of two separate R&B groups before landing a solo contract. But her debut album, "Can't Take Me Home," nearly pigeonholed her as a teen act. She aimed to set the record straight with "Misundaztood" – and she did. Behind songs like "Get the Party Started" and "Don't Let Me Get Me," the album quickly went double-platinum.

Pink next issued "Try This," which continued her progression toward a more rock-oriented sound. Then came "I'm Not Dead," "Funhouse" and 2012's "The Truth About Love." The latter, which was her sixth studio album, featured such singles as "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)" and "Try." The project is being supported by a world tour that kicked off on February 13, 2013 in Phoenix, Arizona. In March, Pink confirmed she'll be adding more dates to her tour in Australia, Canada and the US.

Outside of music, Pink is known for her eclectic and adventurous hair styles. She is also an advocate for PETA, and heavily involved with several charities. Her social media following is also at some 14+ million Twitter followers, and 18 million likes on Facebook.
