Anyone would wonder how such an unusual band came together to create the strangest and yet oddly infectious tracks of the rock century, so here it goes.... born in 1986, Primus began with a wild bass guitarist and odd vocalist Les Claypool followed by a drummer king of drummers Tim 'Herb' Alexander as well as a spiraling artist of guitar riff sounds from guitarist Larry LaLonde.

It can be an understatement - meaning, the albums, and even the songs. When the first album in 1991 came out, Sailing the Seas of Cheese, no one probably thought Primus would make a go of it. They were just too weird. They spat in the faces of doubt and made gold with the first album just before the release of Pork Soda, their second album, in 1993. A fifth album came around in 1995, too, called Tales From the Punch Bowl. Primus is probably best known for 'My Name is Mud' and 'Wynona's Big Brown Beaver.' Yes, they were odd titles. But that was the essence of Primus.

While that was the essence of Primus, it surely grabbed hold of many's attention. They had their own distinct bass sound, deep and quick vocals, and class about them; and the reality was the humor won over the music industry, period.
