About Queensryche
Queensryche Tickets - The Beauty of Rock
What with all the heavy '80s rock out there and heavy metal leather, Queensryche was that departure from all of that in an effort to look for something completely original. Beginning in 1982 with guitarists Chris DeGarmo and Michael Wilton right in the middle of Seattle, Washington, in a suburb of Bellevue, Queensryche was born. In the effort to build up the band, Geoff Tate as the frontman, bass guitarist Eddie Jackson, and drummer Scott Rockenfield joined for a long-suffering journey of a 2-year rehearsal to produce nothing more than a 4-song demo tape. Thankfully, the hard work paid off as the demo caught the attention of local record store owners Kim and Diana Harris, prompting them to offer management. By the end of 1983, Queensryche had already received the opportunity to sign with a major label, EMI.

First album Queen of the Reich was what got EMI's attention followed by two more albums, the third entitled Empire with the hit single 'Silent Lucidity,' a rock ballad to brand Queensryche on their own pedestal as a unique sound.Queensryche Tickets - This Is What You'll Hear
You saw the heavy riffs of a post-Van Halen style mixed with very deep and melodious '70s rock, such as Pink Floyd and Queen. They were the bridge between several eras of hard rock, for sure.
