Groundbreaking rock opera Rent is back in New York this summer at New World Stages with a fresh new flair. With music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson based on Giacomo Puccini's opera La boheme, the musical tells the story of young artists struggling to survive in NYC under the shadow of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Originally premiering at Off-Broadway's New York Theatre Workshop, this exciting revival will be directed by Michael Grief, the original director of the show and will feature a cast of unknowns as well as new sets.
