Coe's alter-ego holds court in world's largest dance venues (Created February 20, 2013)

Alexander Coe, best known by the stage name Sasha, has a rare ability to tap into the feelings and emotions of his audience and always keep them moving. A master at the style of Progressive Trance, not to mention House and break beat elements, he has established himself in large dance venues around the globe.

Despite his worldwide popularity, Coe didn't morph into his DJ alter-ego overnight. Born and raised in a small town in Wales, he was exposed to different types of music at a young age and developed an early talent for playing piano. But his true calling became evident upon his first exposure to house music at Manchester's Hacienda. In short order he had packed up and moved from Wales to Manchester, volunteering on a whim to play club dates at a local pub. With just 30 records to spin, he made the most of the opportunity.

Sasha's big break eventually came when he was offered residency at legendary club Shelly's. He won over the crowd in a hurry, with a music style that always kept the dancefloors full and people coming back for more. Eventually, he would move to Renaissance, where he mixed his first UK DJ mix album and forged a partnership with John Digweed known as "Northern Exposure" in 1996-97.

Since then, Sasha has put his name on no fewer than 13 official DJ mixes/compilations and two studio albums. That includes 2013's "Invol<3r," the third installment of his definitive series. A tracklist was revealed in February, with the project officially due out in March.
