A Look at Sebadoh tickets

The rock trio Sebadoh has always kept it real. Their shows are gritty, low-fi expositions of naked lyrics, simple instrumentation and pure energy. Their albums follow suit. Sebadoh was formed in 1986 in Westfield, Massachusetts, when musicians Eric Gaffney on guitar and vocals, and ex-Dinosaur Jr. bassist Lou Barlow recruited Jason Lowenstein to play drums and sometimes bass. Sebadoh (a nonsense word Lou Barlow sometimes mumbled during studio sound checks) exemplified the low-fidelity sound and approach with its early recordings, and its early success emerged from compilations put together on four-track tape recorders. The Freed Man , recorded in 1989, and Weed Forestin' in 1990 were both four-track tape releases that, with their infectious live shows, earned Sebadoh a sizable following and a recording contract with Homestead Records. The Freed Weed became Sebadoh's first feature album, a long combination of songs from the first two tape compilations. What is most appealing about Sebadoh's music is its genuineness. The lyrics are from real life, and Barlow's melancholic vocals are evocative and reminiscent of better times. Sebadoh tickets promise a night of simple rock and musical story-telling that will have you moving to their anthemic sounds. Since the band reunited in 1007 with its original members, they have reissued The Freed Man and Bubble and Scrape, first recorded in 1993.
