Selena, Justin and plans for a fourth studio album (Updated November 15, 2012)

The Selena Gomez of 2012 spent a good chunk of time working on her acting career. It wasn't until the fall that she appeared ready to embark again on creating new music, announcing the release date of a fourth studio album due out in March 2013.

Gomez's 2011 album, "When the Sun Goes Down," spawned the smash hit, "Love You Like a Love Song," plus a Best Female Video nomination from the MTV Video Music Awards. But the former Disney star was also caught up in a high-profile and very public relationship with Justin Bieber while balancing a demanding film schedule. By August 2012 she had been cast in seven upcoming films, including six in a lead role, and by November it was widely reported that Gomez and Bieber had ended their relationship due to busy schedules and "trust issues."

Using Twitter as a vehicle for promotion post-Bieber, Gomez used a visit with radio talk show (and American Idol) host Ryan Seacrest to have him deliver the news of her impending new project. She also revealed she wanted to try out new musical styles, and has apparent plans to work with good friend Taylor Swift.
