That was such a craze in the '80s, the big glamour rock regime with the long curly hair and studded leather looks. Classic rock. Enter: the band Slaughter, a true rock band of the age formed by frontman Mark Slaughter (yes, that was his last name), bass guitarist Dana Strum, guitarist Tim Kelly, and drumer Blas Elias. The year was 1988, and alt metal was about to explode onto the scene. That didn't stop the classic rock band Slaughter from continuing to truck on.

Their first album was called Stick It to Ya, and it did reasonably well in 1989. A few of their more notable singles were 'Fly to the Angels,' 'Up All Night,' and 'Spend My Life.' They didn't hit gold until the second album was released -- The Wild Life. Featuring actress Shannon Doherty in the video, the song 'Real Love' exploded. Slaughter kept on releasing their work throughout the '90s, and loved every minute of it.

One thing would definitely stick out the most when it came to Slaughter -- Mark's incredibly high range. His falsetto was astronomical, and it fit perfectly for the genre. When glam rock was all the craze, Slaughter was one of the only bands to reach past the revolution that was alternative metal throughout the '90s, a huge feat to undertake.
