"In your Dreams" and a Fleetwood Mac reunion (Updated December 4, 2012)

Enjoying phenomenal success ever since the release of her debut album, Stevie Nicks continued to churn out hit after hit with the release of her second solo effort, "The Wild Heart," with five more independent efforts to follow. She has sustained her career thanks to smash hits like "Stand Back," "Talk to Me," "Gypsy," "Edge of Seventeen," "Gold Dust Woman" and so many, many more.

With a vocal style that has been compared to Janis Joplin, and a more mystical image and stage presence thanks to her chiffon shirts and long blonde hair, Nicks' style is said to be both unique and timeless. To complete the look, she has taken to decorating her microphone stands – both on her own tours and also as part of Fleetwood Mac. Over the years, she has used ribbons, scarves, crystal beads and other objects on stage.

Nicks' most recent album – her first in more than a decade – was the May 2011 release of "In Your Dreams." It was her first solo studio effort since 2001, and also coincided with the 30th anniversary of her debut solo album. Still, Nicks' heart has mostly remained with the band that has made her a household name.

Fleetwood Mac will hit the road in 2013, set to crisscross the country on a 34-date American tour that will see the band hit all major U.S. markets. According to Nix, the band has also been working on new songs and is hoping to release at least two of them prior to the tour. Still, the music will focus mostly on the classics Fleetwood Mac made famous over the years.

Fleetwood Mac's 2013 tour begins April 4 in Columbus, Ohio, stops at Madison Square Garden in New York City on April 8 and moves west from there. It is slated to wrap on June 12 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

Singer Stevie Nicks has had a storybook career. Before hitting super-stardom with Fleetwood Mac, Nicks experienced rough times while living in Hollywood, but she persisted and has now become one of the grand dames of rock history.

Stephanie Nicks was born in 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona. She moved around a lot as a child, her father climbing corporate ladders, but eventually lived in San Francisco, where she attended high school, met musician Lindsey Buckingham and formed her first band with him called Fritz (Fritz Raybyne Memorial Band), which became popular in the Bay area, opening for acts such as Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Credence Clearwater Revival. Both Nicks and Buckingham eventually attended and dropped out of San Jose State University and moved to Los Angeles to pursue music. After recording their first album together, "Buckingham Nicks" in 1973 on Polydor Records, the duo and couple hit tough times. The album didn't fare well, they were dropped by Polydor, and were sleeping at a friend's house.

In 1974, an offer came to join Fleetwood Mac, and the 1975 album "Fleetwood Mac" launched a ride to the pinnacle of rock stardom for Nicks and the band. The 1977 album "Rumours" was a blockbuster for the band, and Nicks, as front person on stage, became an international star, despite numerous romantic tensions in the band after her relationship with Buckingham broke up. Nicks embarked on a solo career with the release of her album "Bella Donna", a huge success, and has since remained a presence among female pop singers.
