About Testament
Testament Tickets - A Testament to Thrash Metal
Hailing from San Francisco, this was a band that was actually ready to go head to head with the kings of thrash metal -- Metallica. With the members frontman Steve Souza, guitarists Eric Peterson and Derrick Ramirez, bass guitarist Greg Christian, and drummer Louie Clemente, they were primed and ready to make it big as lead guitarist Alex Skolnick joined up to help with the signing of a contract with Megaforce Records to mark 1987's debut of one of the biggest thrash metal bands ever.
Testament Tickets - The Music of Testament
The debut was called The Legacy, and it was hailed as an instant classic. Their second album Practice What You Preach in 1989 upped the ante and put them on the same pedestal as Slayer, Megadeth, and Suicidal Tendencies. Testament continued to testify to the rage and rave that was thrash metal for that age.

They were undoubtedly a lot like Metallica with European influences. That was perfect for their core value and theme. Although they weren't from the UK, that flavor benefited them as thrash metal/hard rock connoisseurs.
