Holding the record as the longest-running musical in Broadway history after beating CATS in 2006, The Phantom of the Opera is an astonishing musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on the French novel Le Fant?me de l'Op?ra by Gaston Leroux. With lyrics by Charles Hart and additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe, the musical revolves around Christine Daae, a beautiful soprano singer who becomes the obsession of a disfigured phantom who lurks in the theater. In 2009, The Phantom of The Opera marked it's nine thousandth performance at the Majestic and in 2011, celebrated it's 23rd anniversary.
