The Story of The Pitmen Painters tickets

Inspired by a book by William Feaver and written by Tony Award winner Lee Hall, who also wrote the Broadway's mega-hit Billy Elliot, The Pitmen Painters tells the story of five minors who discover new ways of self-expression and become sensations of the art-world. Presented by the Manhattan Theatre club by special arrangement with Bob Boyett and co-produced by Live Theatre and the Newcastle/National Theatre of Great Britain, The Pitmen Painters explores human passion from the depths of the mines to the heights of fame. The production, which is directed by Max Roberts, features the original London Cast from the sold-out engagement at the London National theatre. The performers include the talented Christopher Connel, Michael Hodgson, Ian Kelly, Brian Lonsdale, Lisa McGrillis, Deka Walmsley, David Whitaker and Phillippa Wilson.
