Lansing, Michigan, had something going majorly when a few guys from the capitol came together -- with the names of frontman Brian Vander Ark, bass guitarist Brad Vander Ark, drummer Donny Brown, and guitarist Brian Stout. In 1992, they formed the Verve Pipe, signing with RCA Records in 1995 to start off their remarkable music career.

Villains, of course, is their defining album, and also their debut, featuring the hit single 'Photograph.' And although the single as well as the album made serious waves in the industry, it wasn't until 'The Freshmen' was released as a single that the album really took off. With the album going platinum thanks to the second single, a second album was a definite as the band began to work together to release their self-titled sophomore effort in 1999. 2001 saw the release of a third album as well entitled Underneath.
