Husband-wife duo among country's hot young talent (Updated January 30, 2013)

"Are you gonna kiss me or not?" is normally a question reserved for boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, wives or significant others. For the duo known as Thompson Square, it happened to be the song title to their very first Number One hit, and first for Stoney Creek Records in the summer of 2010. It's been uphill ever since for the husband-wife combo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson, who are blazing a trail among the hot young talent in country music.

The initial meeting of Keifer and Shawna even sounds like a country song. They both relocated to Nashville the same week, met at a singing competition at the Nashville Nightlife and nearly fell in love at first sight. Both briefly pursued solo careers before joining forces as a duo, creating a buzz for more than their music. Shawna's ever-changing hairstyles (Updo? Sideswept? Top Knot?) and Keifer's newsboy cap complimented their 'unconventional' image – something that was left untouched by the label as they worked radio tours and industry circles.

Though Thompson Square's debut single was "Let's Fight," (off the eponymous album released in Feb. 2011) it was the 180° reverse with "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not?" that suddenly had them sitting at the top of the charts. They captured the Academy of Country Music award for top Vocal Duo in the spring of 2012, toured with superstar Jason Aldean and were hard at work in the studio making new music the rest of the year.

"Just Feels Good," their sophomore album, is due on March 26, 2013. The lead single, "If I Didn't Have You," is the fastest-rising single of the duo's career, and tells the story of two people who rely on each other to get through the daily trials and tribulations of life. They filmed the music video on January 16, and began the "Dirt Road Diaries Tour" with Luke Bryan the very next day.
