Several years ago, DJ Tiesto (often referred to just as Tiesto) established his reputation as one of the greatest DJs ever to spin music. Born Tijs Michiel Verwest in 1969 in North Brabant, Netherlands, he gained experience as a DJ at the Dutch club The Spock. In 1997, he partnered with his close friend Arny Bink in founding the now-legendary company Black Hold Recordings, which produced the trance music classics 'Sururban Train,' 'Flight 643' and 'Lethal Industry.' In 2001, DJ Tiesto released his debut solo album, In My Memory which resulted in several hits and boosted his career to stardom. He was named 'World's No. 1 DJ' three consecutive times by DJ Magazine from 2002 through 2004. In his more recent albums, DJ Tiesto has taken to more experimentation with electronic genres, working with established artists, like Tegan & Sara and Nelly Furtado on his 2009 release Kaleidoscope, a departure from his earlier albums, which focused mostly on trance. His latest album, Club Life: Volume One Las Vegas was released in 2011.
