Known for a unique ability to improvise on nearly any instrument, and with a diverse musical background that has spanned well over three decades, Tim Reynolds is recognized for much more than his collaborations with the Dave Matthews Band. Born in Germany and raised in a military family, Reynolds learned piano at the age of 8, then moved to acoustic guitar and electric bass guitar in his teens. He would later add psychedelic and progressive rock to the mix, and fronted his own trio, TR3, known for their fusion of funk, rock and jazz. It was in the late 1980?s that he met Dave Matthews, and since that time he has appeared on all Dave Matthews Band releases and joined them on tours around the world. Beyond DMB and a highly successful solo career, Reynolds? chance meeting with bass player Mick Vaughn and drummer Dan Martier eventually resulted in the resurrection of the electric TR3. The group has been touring ever since, and in 2009 released their first studio album, ?Radiance.? The band also has an open taping police, contending that no two concerts are alike.On the road, Reynolds often performs in the name of charitable causes. Alongside Dave Matthews, he appeared on a 2008 album called ?Songs For Tibet,? an initiative to support Tibet, Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso and to speak out against the human right violations allegedly committed against Tibet by China. Reynolds has also appeared at Farm Aid, and with Matthews, was one of the first musicians to embrace the concept of enabling fans to drive charitable contributions of their choice through his concerts.The Dave Matthews band will be back on the road in North America beginning November 30 with back-to-back shows at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The final date before the holiday break will a show on December 22 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
