It's all about TNGHT (Created May 8, 2013)

They're so new to the scene that you probably hadn't heard about them last night. Yet, production duo TNGHT, aka Hudson Mohawke and Lunice, are not only bringing a hip hop element to EDM, they've made a name for themselves in a hurry.

Just what is the story behind TNGHT? Mohawke (Ross Birchard) and Lunice (Lunice Fermin Pierre II) found each other via MySpace and first met in 2008, during the first LuckyMe Records tour of North America. Mohawke performed at the Pop Montreal festival and Lunice played a supporting role. But it wasn't until summer that the two booked a studio in London to create what would be their self-titled EP, which blew fans and critics out of the water.

In combining their roles, these guys have surely come out ahead of the competition. With a sound called "trap-rave" (which combines synths, sampled sounds, 808 kicks and crunk cuts), TNGHT was tapped to contribute to Kanye West's "Mercy," and their song "R U Ready" was first heard at the rap mogul's Victoria Secret Fashion show. Kanye even came out on stage with the duo during their NYC show as they performed his track, "Cold."

TNGHT not only headlined Warp Records' 2012 SXSW showcase, they debuted their EP via Warp X LuckyMe on July 23, 2012. They've also performed at several venues internationally, including The Opera House, Brooklyn's Musical Hall of Williamsburg and the Coachella music festival.
