The school's first organized game was on January 1, 1890. It was the first time a football game had been played between two teams in Louisiana. Tulane started playing intercollegiate games in 1893 and had its first perfect season 1900 when it went 5-0. Tulane also went unbeaten in 1925, but turned down a Rose Bowl invitation to keep their students in class. Tulane has won nine conference titles; their lone Conference USA championship came in 1998.
