About Whitechapel
Whitechapel Tickets - Death Metal at Its Best
So forget all the thrash and speed metals out there. Nu-metal sucks. Alt metal is too dry and trite. So what do you do? Inject a little poison with the sounds of pure death metal! And that couldn't be more clear than with the band Whitechapel, a band formed in 2006 right in Knoxville, Tennessee, by vocalist Phil Bozeman, lead guitarist Ben Savage, drummer Kevin Lane, bass guitarist Gabe Crisp, and guitarists Alex Wade and Zach Householder. Thanks to the powerfully wild sound they portrayed, their 2006 self-produced EP led to a deal with European company Siege of Amida followed by a distribution effort with Candlelight. The eventual singing was with Metal Blade for their debut album in 2008, and boy was it a sweet one!
Whitechapel Tickets - The Music of Whitechapel
The full-length album of 2008 was called This Is Exile, and it stirred crowds like you wouldn't believe. Some of the singles on the album include 'Father of Lies,' 'Possession,' 'Exalt,' and the title track itself.
Whitechapel Tickets - The Sound and Style of Whitechapel
Just know that the name 'Whitechapel' was derived from the London neighborhood where the infamous Jack the Ripper did away with most of his victims in history! That should tell you something about the sound of the band. They knew hardcore better than anyone. Merging sub-genres like grindcore, hardcore, and black metal became one of the nastiest unions of metal rock any set of ears would ever hear, and then bleed with passion. Death metal at its best, indeed.
