Wrigley Field Tickets - History
Built in 1914 as Weegham Park, Wrigley Field obtained its current name in 1926 eight years after William Wrigley, the chewing gum manufacturer, acquired the team in 1918. The ballpark is known for its ivy-covered brick outfield walls, which were planted by Bill Veeck, General Manager of the club, in 1937. Wrigley Field currently seats over 41,000 patrons and in recent years has hosted some major touring musical acts such as Jimmy Buffett, The Police, Elton John, Billy Joel, Rascal Flatts, and the Dave Matthews Band. It has been filmed in and featured in television and movies, most notably The Blues Brothers, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Rookie of the Year, A League of Their Own, ER, Chicago Hope and Prison Break.
