Arizona Wildcats Football Details
The University of Arizona football team has won six conference titles in its history. The program also happens to be in good hands these days, as Rich Rodriguez is one of the best head coaches in the Pac-12. Rodriguez is known as one of the more innovative minds in the game, and his offenses are always going to find ways to confuse opponents. Rodriguez has held some high profile jobs in his career, as he was the head coach at West Virginia from 2001 to 2007 and the head coach at Michigan from 2008 to 2010. His stint with the Mountaineers was the most successful, as he went 60-26 in Morgantown. And while the results haven’t quit been there in Arizona, he has made football in Tucson exciting again. It’s also likely that things will be turned around rather shortly.
Two players that will surely be dazzling the fans that come out to Arizona Stadium this year are quarterback Brandon Dawkins and running back Nick Wilson. Dawkins is one of the most dangerous dual-threat signal-callers in the nation. Dawkins threw for 1,348 yards with eight touchdowns and only six interceptions on 182 attempts last year, but he also added a ridiculous 944 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground. With Nick Wilson behind him, defenses are not going to know who to go after as the ball carrier. Wilson rushed for 1,375 yards and 16 touchdowns as a freshman, but he dealt with injuries in the following two seasons. Now that he is healthy, this Arizona offense is a problem for Pac-12 opponents.
