Arkansas Razorbacks Football Details
The Arkansas Razorbacks are normally known for their running game and defense, but this team has actually thrived in the passing game over the past few years. A lot of that has to do with the Allen family, as Austin Allen is currently under center for this team and followed his brother Brandon’s footsteps. Brandon was a very good quarterback for the Razorbacks, but Austin has even more talent. In his first season as the team’s starter, Allen threw for 3,430 yards with 25 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He had four games with over 300 yards passing, and this offense belongs to him. The team will only go as far as Allen takes it, but there is plenty of talent around him. One guy that is explosive in his own right is running back Devwah Whaley. Whaley is the team’s starter right now, but he was supposed to back up the now retired Rawleigh Williams III. It has worked out just fine for Arkansas, though. Whaley is a big-time running back that should make things easier on the Razorbacks defense with his ability to eat at the clock.
The head coach of this Arkansas team is the extroverted Bret Bielema. Bielema has been an incredibly successful college coach, as he went 68-24 in his seven seasons with the University of Wisconsin and went 25-26 in his first four years with Arkansas. While that record with the Razorbacks might not be considered too impressive, he has completely turned this program around and fans in Fayetteville should be confident that a second national championship is possible in the near future. Razorback Stadium has been as energetic as ever over the past few seasons, and the best is yet to come with Bielema in charge.
