Blink 182 Details
Known for their irreverent sense of humor, Blink-182 was formed in Poway, California in 1992 by Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus. Originally called Duck Tape, and later Blink, they added drummer Travis Barker to replace their original drummer Scott Raynor midway through a tour to promote their second album in 1998.
While the band's first album achieved moderate success, their next album, 1997's "Dude Ranch," sold over one million copies. In 1999, the band truly broke through with "Enema of the State", which went multi-platinum and reached number nine on the Billboard 200. The band enjoyed recognition due to their irreverent singles "What's My Age Again" and "All the Small Things," which reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100.
The group's next albums, "Take Off Your Pants and Jacket", which reached number one, and self-titled "Blink-182," were also well-received. The band went on hiatus in 2005 but reunited in February of 2009, and immediately began performing, starting with the 51st Grammy Awards, which saw Blink-182 take the stage for the first time since 2004.
To date, Blink-182 has released seven albums and has one Grammy nomination, for "Best Rock Album" for 2016's "California."
