Carly Simon Tickets - The Daughter of Simon & Schuster?Really, that isn't a joke. Richard Simon was a man who co-founded one of the largest publishing companies ever known to man. Who would've thought that his daughter, born June 25, 1945, by the name of Carly Simon, would enter into the music industry -- of all places -- right in the heart of New York? Carly originally began her career with her sister Lucy (the writer of the music featured in the Broadway version of The Secret Garden) as the 'Simon Sisters.' They had plenty of fun working together, but Carly really didn't come out into her own until she went solo in 1971. It was all downhill from there!
Carly Simon Tickets - The Music of Carly SimonHer self-titled album came out in February of that year, featuring her first hit 'That's the Way I've Always Heard It Should Be.' She followed up her first album with Anticipation later that year, an album that went gold in two years time. Her greatest hit in that album was the title song 'Anticipation,' and it earned her the 1971 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. When her third album No Secrets came out, people were stunned as she took the industry by storm yet again with a gold certification and two smash singles called 'You're So Vain' and 'The Right Thing to Do' rockin' the charts.
Carly Simon Tickets - The Sound and Style of Carly SimonShe has this unbridled, unkindled, and boundless beauty of her that matches even that of a Shania Twain, Sheryl Crow, or Celine Dion. With unequivocal talent on the guitar, Simon was made for a solo career -- and hopefully will continue doing what she does best.
