Ohio’s capital city has plenty to offer fans of live entertainment, from sports to music to theater. Of course, no visit to the Buckeye state is complete without a visit to one of the biggest college sports powerhouses in the country - depending on the season, an Ohio State Football game at Ohio Stadium or an Ohio State Basketball game at the Schottenstein Center (also known as “The Schott”). For those who prefer the pros, Columbus features the Columbus Crew, an MLS team that plays its games at MAPFRE Stadium, and the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, who play downtown at Nationwide Arena. Those arenas and stadiums also host major concerts and festivals, such as Rock on the Rage and Buckeye Superfest, in addition to smaller venues in town such as the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion (LC Pavilion) and A&R Music Bar in the Arena District, Skully’s in the Short North, and Newport Music Hall near OSU campus. The Ohio Theatre and Palace Theatre are great options for theater and comedy shows.
