About Concert Tickets in Denver

Denver is one of the fastest growing cities in the US—its population has increased by over 15% since 2010—and it was named by U.S. News & World Report as the best place to live in the country. Denver has been an important city in America’s music history and was a major part of the American folk scene: Bob Dylan lived and performed there during the 1960s and 70s. Denver was also the first American city to host legendary bands like Led Zeppelin and Queen. Naturally, Colorado’s mile-high capital is still a great place to find live music today.

Denver’s largest indoor arena is the Pepsi Center, which gets frequent use as a concert venue when the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche aren’t playing. Celine Dion held the first concert and first ever event at the arena in 1999. The Pepsi Center’s capacity for concerts can vary depending on the stage configuration but is generally over 20,000. Recent and upcoming performers at the Pepsi Center include Matchbox Twenty, Imagine Dragons, Arcade Fire, Charli XCX, Bruno Mars, Fall Out Boy, Jay-Z, and Lorde.

If you’re looking for something truly unique though, there’s no venue in the world like the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Located in Red Rocks Park, the amphitheater is 6450 feet (well over a mile) above sea level and can hold over 9000 fans. It’s also a National Historic Landmark. The amphitheater opened in 1941 and offers a closeness to nature that almost no other concert venue can claim. The theatre itself is geologically formed and uses two 300-foot monoliths to optimize its acoustics. Red Rocks has hosted some of the biggest names in music: The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and The Rolling Stones all played there. In more recent history, artists like Weezer, Kings of Leon, Muse, Nickelback, and Incubus have played at Red Rocks.

What’s the best place to see a concert in Denver?

If an artist you like is performing at the Pepsi Center, you shouldn’t hesitate to go, but the Red Rocks Amphitheatre is the kind of thing you can only find in Denver. There’s plenty to do at the park before the show, and there’s something happening on stage most nights while the weather is warm enough.
