Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Demetria Lovato, better known as Demi Lovato, is a talented singer and actress who made one of her first TV appearances on “Barney & Friends”. Lovato released her debut studio album, “Don't Forget”, in September of 2008. This was just months before she starred in the hit Disney Channel show, “Sonny with a Chance”. It wasn’t until 2009 that things really started to take off for Demi.
She released her second studio album, “Here We Go Again”, which sent her to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200. However, her career hasn’t been without its setbacks. Demi has been very candid about her emotional and mental health – in 2010, she went to rehab for a nervous breakdown. She battled an eating disorder, issues with self-harming, as well as an addiction to subscription pills. In 2011, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Demi used her battles to pour her heart and soul into writing her emotionally-charged third studio album, “Unbroken”.
